Apparently I’m running a Marathon (sh*t!)
sending this now before I back out...
It all started in the mountains of Mallorca, July 2024.
There I was feeling like absolute death running uphill like a madman in 40-degree heat.
For Eugenio, who was setting the pace ahead of me, this was his idea of a good day out.
Years before he was overweight and constantly partying.
Then he found running. Or running found him.
One thing led to another and now he is a full-blown Marathon runner going for a sub 3 hour time (which if you don’t know that means he’s damn fast!).
But this new mentality bled into all corners of his life. Especially his business (a marketing agency).
He has since scaled it 5X.
Not because he got lucky. Not because he found some magic formula. Because he showed up, day after day, willing to suffer, willing to endure, willing to do the work.
Spending more time with him in person I honestly believe this is his secret weapon.
So when he challenged me to a brutal 10k heat run in Mallorca last summer I had to see what all the fuss was about.
And damn, it was a wake up call. But the pain was strangely addictive. So I kept up the habit.
That’s when Eugenio dialled it up a notch.
He then invited me to do Monk Mode with him this winter in the Dominican Republic.
With one non-negotiable requirement:
I would agree to run the Sevilla Marathon next year and train with him 4 times a week in the Dominican.
Challenge accepted.
That conversation happened 2 months ago and I’m now here typing this out to you on the beaches of the Caribbean having just completed a cheeky 12k - feeling like a million dollars.
Morale of the story?
Your circle is everything.
Surround yourself with people who challenge you to do big sh*t in life (and hold you accountable).
You don't need a team of cheerleaders. You need an accountability partner.
Someone who will drag you out of bed on the days you don’t want to show up.
Someone who will call you on your bullshit when you start slacking.
Just because this email has no business tactics doesn’t mean it won’t unlock huge growth.
Actually, since I started running consistently I’ve started making a lot more money too.
Coincidence? I think not.
Momentum is contagious.
Plus, you can’t put a price on your health.
If you know you know.
