How to Network (if you’re a nobody)
the 7 step system to get in the room
Your service? Solid.
Your skills? Sharper than most.
Your network? Non-existent.
You watch other entrepreneurs getting tagged in viral posts, name-dropped on podcasts, and invited to exclusive rooms.
Meanwhile, you’re stuck in the DM dungeon, sending messages that get left on read.
Nothing.

Here’s the brutal truth: If no one knows you, no one cares about your business.
But don’t worry. 5 years ago I was in the exact same spot.
No connections. No big-name friends. No secret backdoor into the industry.
So I built my own network from scratch.
I turned strangers into allies, mentors, and business partners.
And now, I’ll show you my exact blueprint.
Let’s get you in the room.
Firstly, most people fail at networking because they do it backwards.
They ask for something before they’ve given anything, and wonder why they’re ignored.
You? You’re going to play the game differently.

By building relationships BEFORE you need them.
Here’s how in 7 simple steps:
Step 1: Identify Who Already Has a Network
Find the people who already have access to your ideal connections.
Podcast hosts
Community builders
Event organizers
Agency owners who serve the same clients as you
This is shortcut number one—you don’t need to build a network, just tap into one.
Step 2: Get on Calls With Them
You have two options:
The slow way – Spam DMs and pray someone responds.
The fast way – Pay for an hour of their time.
Don’t be cheap. The right conversation can save you years of effort.
Step 3: Find Out Their Goals
Most people try to “network” by talking about themselves.
Instead, ask:
What’s your biggest goal this year?
What’s the biggest roadblock stopping you?
Then shut up and let them talk. Listen!
Step 4: Solve Their Problems
Want to be remembered? Help people win.
If you can solve their problem, do it.
If you know someone who can, make the intro.
(You’d be amazed how fast you can level up just by being a great middleman.)
Step 5: Follow Up When It Actually Matters
Most people only reach out when they need something.
Instead, follow up when:
They land a big deal
They hit a rough patch
It’s their birthday (LinkedIn literally tells you)
The best networkers don’t just connect. They stay connected.
Step 6: Ask for Introductions
Once you’ve built trust, it’s time to level up.
The magic question: Who else do you know that I should meet?
If they like you, they’ll introduce you.
And just like that—you’re in the room.
(then repeat process 1-6 again and again)
Step 7: Post Content So Your Reputation Gets There First
The highest level of networking?
Having people come to you.
Your content should do the heavy lifting before you even step in the room.
If you’re not posting, you’re invisible.
Most entrepreneurs never build a real network because they treat it like a transaction
They show up once, shake a few hands, fire off a couple of DMs then wonder why nothing happened.
That’s not how this game works. Remember, relationships compound.
Every person you help = A potential introduction.
Every introduction = A new opportunity.
Every opportunity = One step closer to the rooms that change your life.
And the best part?
You don’t need to be famous.
You don’t need 100K followers.
You just need to be valuable.

Because in the end, power networks don’t belong to the loudest people.
They belong to the ones who make things happen.
And now? That’s you.
Your Challenge This Week
Pick one person you admire.
Engage with their content.
Get on a call.
Ask what they need help with.
Find a way to help.
If you do this consistently, I guarantee in 12 months your network will be unrecognizable.
And you’ll go from invisible to undeniable.

Now, it’s on to you.
Let me know how it goes.
Yours truly,
-Nigel Thomas
