This is Monk Mode 2.0
(except it isn't lonely and depressing)
Good old Monk Mode.
I’ve tried it in the past. Locking the doors, not talking to family/friends and grinding relentlessly in the dark. I had a few days of success but it never quite lasted.
So this winter I’m beta-testing a new strategy:
I call it ‘Sun Mode’. Here’s the new protocol:
A tropical climate
A property to rent away from the city - in nature.
A small group of ambitious entrepreneurs.
A specific KPI/target for the time you’re there.
For me, I’ve chosen the Dominican Republic alongside Eugenio and Pablo - 2 ambitious individuals hungry for success.
4AM starts. Long days. Big goals to hit.
But let me tell you:
When you’re stressed out your mind walking out the front door onto the beach with the sun shining on your face - It cleanses the soul like nothing else.
And it certainly beats the pitch black cold dark days I’d be facing back home in Manchester right now!
Here's what you should do if you’re considering Sun Mode:
Pick Your Location: Choose a place with natural beauty and a warm climate.
Find Your Tribe: Reach out to friends or connections who are also working toward ambitious goals. Even just a couple of people can make a big difference.
Set Clear Targets: Define exactly what you want to achieve during your time away. Set daily goals and longer-term KPIs to track your progress.
Create a Routine: Early starts, focused work sessions, and breaks to enjoy nature will keep you grounded and productive.
Remember, grinding in isolation can be draining. Sun Mode gives you the focus of Monk Mode with the added benefits of a positive environment and social support.
A happy mind is a powerful mind, and you might find this approach makes winter productivity easier—and a lot more enjoyable.
Monk Mode doesn’t need to be lonely and depressing.
So next time you plan on doing Monk Mode consider the above.
Because regardless of how hard you can grind locked away alone in a dark dungeon…
I can guarantee you’ll achieve more alongside a small group of like-minded people with Mother Nature on your side.
And if you’re smart with planning it’s honestly not as expensive as you think!
