Yesterday, someone exposed me on LinkedIn
said they were "disgusted"
Yesterday, one of my community members messaged me:
Is this your face in her LinkedIn post Nigel?!
So I clicked the link and saw this…

She went on to say she was “disgusted” by the outreach and then had a post breaking down how to do it right.
AND…
She actually was right. My bad. BUT…
Here's what she didn’t know:
And the BIG lesson of today’s email:
When she received this outreach it was 3 weeks before my event in the Dominican Republic...
The organizer had just pulled out on me.
The costs went up 4X what I’d budgeted for.
And I was suddenly dealing with traditional Spanish businessmen who barely spoke English.
I had 4 big-name speakers coming. They’d been promised a room of 35 entrepreneurs.
I had sold 3 tickets. And there were 3 weeks left.
Never felt pressure like that in my life.
I tried everything. And I mean everything.
Cold outreach
Paid ads
Strategic partnerships
Content blitzes
Even hired an agency to send 5,000 Looms/day
That last one flopped hard.
But through all the noise, I figured out what does work.
Social selling on LinkedIn.
DM convos with real people.
Content that created trust and urgency.
Within 3 weeks:
We booked 150 calls
Filled up the mastermind
The event was unforgettable.
And I had a new systems to teach my clients.
Entrepreneurship is not a straight line.
It’s messy, scrappy, humiliating.
But every failed bet brings you closer to the one that works.
So no, I’m not embarrassed.
Because I'd rather be in the arena, making mistakes in public...
Than taking shots at others from the sidelines, playing it safe.
To anyone afraid of doing something that might fail:
Do it anyway.
The worst-case scenario is learning.
The best-case? You get what you want out of life.
For me that meant meeting 35 incredible entrepreneurs and creating memories I’ll remember forever.

Was it worth 1 public shaming post?
Hell yeah. I’d do it all again.
Remember: Life’s short. Live it on your terms.
Yours truly,
-Nigel Thomas
